Leaving a water bottle in the car is more common than we think. This is especially common during the summer, when drivers need extra hydration due to the high temperatures.
However, it's important to be cautious, as leaving water bottles in the car, especially if they're exposed to the sun, can pose risks. This is what expert and content creator Álvaro de Linares asserts in his latest video.
The content creator highlights a phenomenon unknown to most: having a water bottle in the car can cause fires due to sunlight, since it creates a convex lens effect.
"The bottle acts like a convex lens; it will concentrate the light and your car could catch fire. Always keep the bottle out of the sun, because otherwise, it will degrade, and that can cause cancer when you drink it," says de Linares.
Finally, the content creator reveals another item we should keep in our vehicle: glasses. "Be careful with your glasses; some people leave them lying around, and they can have a magnifying glass effect," the expert assures.
